How many of us have a group of friends who we know we can depend on?
Okay, how many of us are still trying to find a good group of friends?
I noticed when you are the one that is working on yourself, it can be hard to find the tribe that is growing with you and standing with you through the process. Wherever you may stand, just know that the art of finding your tribe can be simple! There are good people in the world who aren’t trying to do anything outside of being there for you.
Their hearts are pure and genuine and you won’t have to question their loyalty toward you. These people are loving, caring, kind, and they have such beautiful souls. When you find them, hold on to them as tightly as you can because these are the people who will create a solid foundation for your tribe.
Trust me, you may have to experience a few bad apples in the bunch, but that’s okay. They’ll show you what you do and do not want in a friendship, which will give you a sense of peace when your tribe comes along. If you know the key ways to know you have the right tribe then keep reading.
1) Feel Safe to Take Up Space
Listen up, sis! When you finally find your tribe, you’ll feel safe… You’ll feel loved… Appreciated… Valued… Supported… The list goes on. You’ll be in a space where you can fully be yourself and your tribe won’t make you feel like you don’t belong. They’ll embrace every single aspect of who you are, so make sure you take the time to open up. You should never feel like you’re a burden when it comes to your group of friends and 9 times out of 10, if you even bring up the word “burden” they’ll jump down your throat for having the audacity to think they’d feel that way about you lol. These are the types of people who you want to be surrounded by. On top of that, they’ll create a support system that you can actually rely on. You will never have to question your tribe because your presence will never be taken for granted. If you want more professional women of color to have this kind of space, make sure you sign up for the waitlist of our community Growing Sisters Inner Circle. A community where you are surrounded by women who want to grow and learn how to be at their best selves just as much as you.2) Same Direction
The people in your tribe should have similar interests, be like-minded, and maybe even have the same goals as you. Not only that, but they should cheer you on when you start to accomplish your goals. It’ll be hard to feel stagnate, or complacent around your tribe because they’ll always encourage you to aim higher. (You deserve to have people in your life who push you in a good way!) It’s an amazing feeling to be accepted for all of the things that you want to do in life, but look… Even if you don’t have things all figured out, your tribe will probably make MANY attempts to help you find your way. That’s real love right there!3) Be Intentional
All friendships require a certain level of intention and attention. You have to work on your friendships the same way you would work on a relationship with a significant other. Making time for your tribe is imperative and it has to be reciprocated as well. It is extremely important to give your tribe the same type of attention that you would want to receive. Once you have accomplished that part, the sky is truly the limit. Your friends will be there for you through thick and thin and you will probably forget what life was like before you met them. <3 You are worthy of love and having a tribe that supports you will allow you to receive an abundance of love. You will never have to wonder whether you’re valued because they will make it a point to let you know as often as they can. That feeling is indescribable and it is something that I hope we all get to experience! Are you interested in finding your tribe? I would love to provide an environment where women can meet up and create new friendships, memories and experiences. With that being said, I am planning on creating a group called the “Growing Sisters Inner Circle“! This will be a place where you can be your authentic self while meeting women who are like-minded and searching for their tribe as well. If you would be interested in this, please join the waitlist here.
